Five centuries later

A story about the people from Morona Santiago, a jungle province in Ecuador.

This is Morona Santiago, a jungle territory. Its inhabitants are mostly indigenous Shuar and ´colonos´ (shettlers) They live in the same land but apparently in peace but they distrust each other since the colonial times. But it is not ethnicity differences what separate them. They tend to be physically very similar because of the miscegenation, and their worlds are more and more connected. Priests made them equal for good and evil. Shuars feel marginalized. Mestizos have won the game of the wealth distribution. The pandemic has hardly affected this province already impoverished by the negligence of the Government for ages. But they don´t stop dreaming and wishing visitors that their dreams come true too.
